A Letter to Our Community
Dear TARTTs Community,
Families like yours have been the foundation of what makes Boston and its surrounding communities stronger than whatever challenges might lay ahead. Now more than ever, the need for a safe, clean, nurturing environment where children can grow, share experiences, and learn is something our community must have. During these uncertain times we remain confident that decades of child care experience, reliance on guidance from the state’s top health and safety experts, as well long tenured, loving educators is the best way to make sure families are supported as they return to work or need to work more effectively from home.
For over 75 years, TARTTs has been well known for its ability to provide healthy environments for children. Increased regulations and extensive safety protocols and procedures brought on by COVID-19 serve simply to add dimension to an effort commonplace to our existing mission and values. Social emotional learning is critical to the development of infants, toddlers and preschoolers and can be best achieved in a child care setting. The building blocks we provide our children with today will allow them to excel in grade school, elementary, and higher education.
It truly takes a village to raise happy, healthy and confident children. At TARTTs, we understand that child care provides critical stability for children’s health and wellbeing that is essential during challenging times such as these.
Thank you for being a part of our community!
Warmly,
Four Generations of the TARTTs Family
Everyday Safety Protocols
Know about COVID-19
Coronavirus (COVID-19) is an illness caused by a virus that can spread from person to person. The virus that causes COVID-19 is a new coronavirus that has spread throughout the world. COVID-19 symptoms can range from mild (or no symptoms) to severe illness. TARTTs is taking the following safety precautions in a continuing effort to protect our children and families.
Daily Temperature Checks & Masks
Using Touchless Thermometers, Children, Parents, Teachers, and Administrators are required to take their Temperature upon entry into a TARTTs facility. Any parent, child or TARTTs employee that has a temperature of 100.0 or higher will not be admitted. Masks must be worn by all adults entering the centers. While masks for children 2 and over are recommended by the CDC, they are not required.
Daily Screening Questionnaire
Parents and Staff are required to complete a Daily Screening Questionnaire. The Questionnaire is electronic and will be sent by 4AM each morning and will take seconds to complete. Questionnaires must be completed prior to arrival at center.
Classroom Drop Off
Parents are asked to drop off and pickup at the classroom door. Our goal is to minimize adult interactions with children in the classroom.
Quarantine After Travel
Governor Charlie Baker has announced that effective August 1st, travelers entering Massachusetts—both out of state residents and Massachusetts residents returning home must complete a “Massachusetts Traveler Form” and must quarantine for 14 days. TARTTs is requiring that all staff and families comply with the Governor’s order.
Cleanliness & Handwashing
Toys and equipment (after each use), classroom surfaces (multiple times daily) and common areas (at least 3 times daily), will be sanitized throughout the day using child safe cleaning solutions and Ultraviolet Light sanitizing technology. Handwashing is implemented throughout the day in all TARTTs classrooms.
Daily Entry
Separate entrances and exits will be used at all TARTTs centers. Lobby occupancy will not exceed 2 families at any time. There will be no visitors allowed in the centers and no tours will be conducted between 7:30AM – 5:30PM (TARTTs operating hours).
