Traditionally, securing daycare space in specific Boston neighborhoods can be challenging due to several factors, such as the number of available childcare slots vs. growing populations of families needing care. Boston's Historic South End would be one of the neighborhoods close to the top of that list. Further filtering your search to daycares with excellent reputations for high-quality programs, facilities, and service makes this a process that families should start as early as possible.
We recommend starting your daycare search after three months of pregnancy or shortly after that, especially if you intend to enroll your child in daycare as an infant.
At TARTTs, we understand that choosing the right time to enroll your baby can be a difficult decision. While there is no one-size-fits-all answer to the question of the best age to put a baby in daycare, there are some helpful notes that parents can consider.
Research suggests that babies are generally ready to start daycare around 6 to 12 weeks old. At this age, babies are starting to develop a regular feeding and sleeping schedule, which can make it easier for them to adapt at the daycare facility. However, we understand that every child is unique, and some babies may be ready for daycare earlier or later than others. When making this decision, it’s important to consider your baby’s individual temperament and developmental needs.
Not to worry. Visiting any TARTTs location and submitting a waitlist application puts your family on the waitlist for ALL TARTTs locations. Should you receive an offer of admission for a space at a TARTTs location that you have yet to visit, you will have an expedited tour schedule available to see the site before the deadline to decide.
There is no financial cost to joining a TARTTs waitlist. Our only requirement is that you take a tour of at least one TARTTs location. Tours at TARTTs average between 15 – 20 minutes based on the number of questions you have for us during the Q&A portion of the visit. We encourage you to ask many questions about our programs and services.
While our company policy does not allow us to quote tuition rates over the phone or via email, we present families with a packet of our current tuition rates at the time of their tour.
We are pleased that you enjoyed your visit to TARTTs; however, we encourage families to visit as many daycares as possible before deciding on one school. Not every daycare is the perfect fit for every family. While we hope you choose TARTTs as your childcare home, we want you to visit different schools with various educational philosophies, facilities, neighborhoods, and logistics that work best for you and your family.
